About Cujo, the article stated: Man’s best friend becomes his most fearsome, furry enemy in this thriller based on the Stephen King novel. LOST Season 6 and the Dark Tower

As you all well know, Mr. Stephen King is a fan of LOST.. and vice versa, the creator of LOST is a huge fan of Stephen King... The influence of Mr. King's works on the show is undeniable. You can see Mr. King's ideas all over the show, in all season!

Now that LOST is in their last season, they will be wrapping up the whole story. This kind of reminded me of the time when Mr. King ended the story of The Dark Tower series.

Two alternate realities is what's going on with LOST now, just like the boy Jake (in the Dark Tower books), who also have 2 realities that almost made him crazy.

I sure hope the ending of LOST will be DIFFERENT from the Dark Tower.. or even the one where two Jake's coincide to become one... imagine all the castaway/losties pulling their other self on the real present.,.. they are too many!

American Ido Season 9 Top 24 Finalist!

Have you watched the season 9 of American Idol? Yes, the show is in their ninth season already! I'm not sure if Mr. Stephen King is as big of a fan of American Idol that he is of LOST, but I hope he is.

Anyway, the Top 24 Finalist of American Idol has not been announced yet. Tonight is the 3rd Hollywood episode and tomorrow night, that's the night that the top24 finalist will be announced!

Stephen King finds inspiration in Maine for 'Under the Dome'

Stephen King's latest novel, released last month, is a New York Times bestseller -- hardly a surprise for an author who has sold over 350 million books in his long career.

King has often used his home state of Maine as a backdrop for his novels, and this latest one is no different.

The town of Bridgton, Maine is the real inspiration for the fictional town that is living "Under the Dome."

Stephen King’s Musical: Ghost Brothers of Darkland County

Aside from "Under the Dome", another project of Stephen King that I did not know about is the musical "Ghost Brothers"

John Mellencamp has virtually completed recording and “assembling” the “Ghost Brothers of Darkland County” musical theater collaboration with Stephen King.

John and King have edited the initial three-hour program down to two hours and 10 minutes—with a bit more editing still to come before producer T-Bone Burnett completes the tracks. When finished, the recording will be available in a novel book package containing the full text, two discs featuring the entire production of the spoken word script and songs performed by the cast, and a third CD of the songs only.

The story involves domestic turmoil, and is played by a stellar cast led by Kris Kristofferson, in the role of Joe, the father, and Elvis Costello, as the satanic character The Shape. Rosanne Cash plays Monique, the mother, with the sons enacted by Will Daily (Frank), Dave Alvin (Jack), Alvin’s real-life brother Phil Alvin (Andy) and John (Drake).

Sheryl Crow stars as Jenna and Neko Case is Anna, with boxing legend Joe Frazier playing caretaker Dan Coker and Stephen King himself in the role of Uncle Steve. The narrator is “24” star Glenn Morshower.

John stressed that the three-disc package is not a traditional audio book, but offers an experience more akin to listening to an old radio show with music; he further emphasized the challenge inherent in making such a project work.

John characterized the music as “down-home,” with the earthiness and feeling of the acoustic folk-country blues of the 1930s. He hopes to have the book/CD set out before the musical opens next September at Atlanta’s Alliance Theater.

I am not updated with Mr. Stephen King's latest work. I just checked my email alerts about Mr. King and found out this "Under the Dome" novel.

Two dogs die in this story. Also people — the human body count starts a few pages in and becomes astronomical by the end — but on top of the graphic depictions of murder, rape, suicide, police brutality, angry mobs, and riots, a German Shepherd and a Golden Retriever come to bad ends. Killing off people is one thing, but killing puppies takes everything to a whole new level. This is Stephen King at his most violent.

This is also Stephen King at his best. Speaking as a passionate fan, I feel confident in declaring Under the Dome as King’s best stand-alone novel since The Stand. (The Dark Tower series also ranks up there.) King’s detractors have many legitimate criticisms of his writing, but when all is said and done, he is a master storyteller. In particular, King excels at developing believable characters, typically by placing ordinary folks in extraordinary situations; by stretching the mind to consider fantastic What If? scenarios; and by teasing out the nuances of good versus evil. Under the Dome delivers all of this. Oh, does it deliver.

On a sunny day in October, a globe materializes around the small Maine town of Chester’s Mill. Invisible, nearly impermeable, and absolutely impenetrable (nuclear weapons just bounce off), the dome surpasses all human technology. It is alien.

But aliens play only a tiny role in the book. The real focus is on the two thousand people trapped inside the dome, including our hero Dale Barbara, a short-order cook, and our antihero Jim Rennie, a town selectman. It’s bad enough that the town is utterly barricaded from the rest of the world (food, energy, and medical supplies can’t last forever); making everything worse is Selectman Rennie, who sees the chaos of the Dome as his opportunity to grab power. Quicker than you can say “fascism,” Rennie has placed guns into the hands of his cronies and turned Chester’s Mill into a police state. Instant dystopia!

Watching the dynamics of corrupted power at play is what makes the book worth reading. King’s exploration of the best and worst of human nature — heroism and honor, greed and violence — is at its finest in this microcosm of society. (Would it be too obvious to call it a fishbowl?) The book is over a thousand pages long, so some folks will wish that King hadn’t spent quite so much time developing his world; my advice is to neglect your chores for the weekend, kick back with blanket and a kitty cat, and immerse yourself in this battle of good and evil.

December 1, 2009. Christmas is fast approaching. I haven't made a list yet of people to buy gifts for... and i think i have a pretty long list. I 'll be doing my christmas shopping this coming weekend I guess.

Anyway, I was searching the internet for the popular Christmas gift and the one that is in the post teens are horror and thriller books, like Stephen King books of course, and the other popular one is a new toy for kids called Zhu Zhu Pets.

Sorry, this is not a Stephen King book post.. I just want to mention that after staying here in Vancouver for 2 month, I am finally be going home to the PHilippines tonight.

It is here that I bought Lisey's Story (in Superstore to be precise) and I may start reading it back home.. after the promotion of my redtube website, tube 8 or just plain Redtube.

There is also the SXSW music festival in Austin that I have to attend to.. Plus, tonight is halloween and poeple are looking for Samhain or Samhein.

Jack Sawyer: It's been awhile

June 9, 2008! Would you believe it?! It has been awhile since I last posted something here.

It's difficult you see with the whole niche and blog topic/title of this blog. My Stephen King Book. I haven't really read something new. I'm still finishing up The Talisman (taking me forever, been busy blogging).

I created a blog, first person style about Jack Sawyer where I retell him adventure of the Territories. Aside from that, no new books for me.

I also have a more general Stephen King blog at Wordpress.. that's why sometimes (most of the times) I haven't update this blog.

Been also busy doing SEO and earning a few bucks from the internet... thinking back, when I started this blog, it was all for the pleasure of sharing and writing about the books.. now it's money money money.

Been earning with Redtube, megarotic, xhamsters videos. (No, i don't participate nor upload my videos.. that's hilarious). I also have some mp3 streaming and dowload post. Online translators too as well as homestay in Vancouver (which btw is where I am now)

Anyway, i hope you don't mind if i post super irrelevant things here.. coz it's all about the links and traffic now for me... For stephen king books and stephen king related post, you can always check my stephen king blog at wordpress... (although even there, i have a few keywords advertisement).

It has been a month since I last updated this little blog... I haven't pick up any Stephen King books lately, sorry.

But that doesn't mean that I stop looking for updates or news about the master story teller. As a matter a fact, I felt confined and restrained to the topic of this blog that I just have to create another one to share what's up with Mr. King... Hence, I created My Stephen King Blog.

My Stephen King Blog will not be limited to the books that I read that Mr. King wrote, but news and other interesting fact about him that does not fit to write on this site.

I could put my 'reviews' or share my joy in reading Stephen King books to that blog as well, but I just could bring myself to give this one up.. That's why I'm keeping this one too. :)

I was walking around my room this morning and out of nothing started browsing/looking to the shelves of my Stephen King books collections and thought to myself, "Geez, I sure have lots of collection. Wonder which of these are the best".

My answer? Insomia.

But of course, that's just my favorite 'at that moment'. Probably because the story, scene and characters are still fresh on my mind. Geez, I can still see the scene where the 'kamikaze' pilot is going to drop the plane!

Anyway, I love "Bag of Bones" too at some point when I re-read it for the third times. What I'm trying to say is that, Stephen King has tremendously large number of fantastic books and to decide which one is the best (or your favorite) should not be asked... very hard for a human mind to comprehend.. :D

My wife was admitted to the hospital today.

Her OB said that she may be experiencing an labor. So in order to observe her, she has to be admitted.

Went home and brought a couple of things that are needed. I took several of her clothes, several of mine, undies and of course, The Talisman! :)

Few days ago, I saw the latest movie adaptation of one of Stephen King's books, The Mists.

I didn't finished the movie though. I have to attend to some important stuff at work.

But anyway, it made me realized that I still don't have a copy of that book. And not only that, I also realized that I haven't bought any good books (Mr. King or not) lately.

I checked Stephen King's official website and found out that there are many new books out there by Mr. King that I still don't have.

Alright Stephen King fans, both old and new, would you like to know everything about Mr. King? Same goes if you're a fan of any author, artist or political figure, would it be nice if by a single click of a mouse you can read all the information about that particular person? Of course you would.

There are websites that is specially dedicated in people search. One of which is Spock.com - the best people search on the Web

What is Spock?

Spock is a free people and information search engine that takes information on people from all across the Web and organizes it in an easy to search format.

Searching people using Spock will give a number of links for more information about that person. Users can search by name, e-email or just by putting "tags" - a more personal piece of information (e.g. lawyer, web developer, blind, curly hair, etc).

By the way, one of the plus of Spock is that it loads very fast (just like Google) since it only has a Spock logo and a text box... A big plus on a website.

Let take this people search service to the test... Let's do a simple search

Let say I want to know more about my favorite writer (yes, he's Stephen King..) I would put in that keyword on Spock's text box and click on search.

If you tried that, the first hit would be "Stephen Edward King". You'll also notice that there are links about 'tags', 'pictures', 'related people' and others, which is also a great help if you're researching related topics aside from Stephen King.

Anyway, clicking on that link (the first search result) will present you bunch of information about Mr. King. There are links from other websites and news website.

It's real helpful. Go try it out yourself.

My First Stephen King Book

My first ever Stephen King book was Firestarter. After watching the TV special "The Stand" I was immediately became a fan of Mr. King.

If memory servers me right, the year was 1997 when I bought that book. I was in my college sophomore (I remember it because I dropped out Engineering Mechanics and have that book to blame. :)

It was very fortunate that I enjoyed that book very much. As far as I can recall, I never found any dull or boring 'scene' from the pages of that book. I think if I picked Gerald's Game then, that could have been my first and last Stephen King book (least of my fave... Dark Tower rocks!)

Jack Sawyer's Adventures Continues

Geez, I checked this blog and was surprised to find out that my last update was July!?! And what's surprising still is that I still haven't finished the book - The Talisman.

I really really would like to finish that book. I'm halfway through it by the way. I'm also reading "Who Killed John Lennon?" right now, so I guess that's one of the reason of the delay.

The Story So Far

As of now, Jack is with a character named 'wolf'. He knows him, or should I say, Phil his father and the other 'bad man', Morgan Sloat.

A lot of things has happened since I last posted about The Talisman here. Jack has been back and forth to the Territories and I think he only has one more swallow left.

I already leant about Morgan's super charged key. He is still after Jack.

It's been a while since we last heard of what happened to Jack Sawyer and his adventures.

Let's continue...

After he got back from his very short journey to The Territory, Jack is now convinced that he must go there in order to save his dying mother. Thanks to Speedy Parker.

Speedy mentioned that he must save the Queen to save his mother. The Queen, according to Speedy is his Mom's tweener - the equivalent person of this world to the Territories. Speed also said to look for the Captain of the Outer Guard. This man can help him. He told Jack to give a piece of triangular-shaped thing to the Captain. It looks like a guitar pick to Jack.

Stephen King's Numbers

Thing are playing around my mind. Questions that I think have some answers to it and I know that Sai King can answer. It's a simple questions of numbers.

I believe his most recent project is the motion picture 1408 starring John Cussack.

Now, does 408 mean anything to a Stephen King fan? We'll see.

I came across 408 when reading The Talisman one night. I noticed that the room in the Alhambra hotel where Jack and his mother Lily is room number 408. And it struck me that 1408 is the latest movie adaptation of a Stephen King novel. What do you think? What is the connection if there is?

Other numbers that Mr. King includes in his novels are the number 19 from Bag of Bones (and eventually to the Dark Tower saga), 237 from The Shinning, 1996 from The Dark Tower saga and probably some more.

If there are more, Stephen King fans, tell me. Good days, and Pleasant nights.

The Talisman Chapter 1: Lily and Jack

Lily And Jack

"Jack! Travellin' Jack! Jack!" was the words that came out of Speedy Parker's mouth when he saw Jack half a mile away from where he was standing a few moments ago.

When Jack and his mother went to the Alhambra Inn, that's when he found out that her mother was dying. At first he thought that his mother was running away from all the problems, telephone calls and others but he now know that she came out there probably to die. This assumption was further verified when his 'Uncle Morgan called them up to ask them to go back to New York and have her visit a doctor. But his mother did not want to.

Even though his mother forbid him to go to Speedy Parker's place, Jack visit him again because of this latest findings. He wanted a comfort of a friend and Speedy is his only friend in this part of the world.

Speedy then told Jack that he was destined to travel and save and her mother and someone just like here, in a place he called 'The Territories'.

The first time Jack saw this Territories was from a picture hanging form Speedy Parker's wall. That place in the picture was nothing Jack has ever seen before. Speedy says it's in Africa, but Jack soon found out it's not.

When Speedy says he have to save his mother and the 'Queen', Jack, at first reluctant, agreed. He was given a bottle of green liquid that will enable him to go to The Territories... If ever he wanted to go back to his real world he just have to drink again.

And that's what Jack did. He managed to swallow a pinch of the liquid. He closed his eyes because of the burning sensation and when he opened it, he was in a different world - The Territories.

The sun looks smaller but more fiery. He walked a few steps looking attentively at the surroundings. He looked where the hotel has been and the Fun World amusement park, all gone. All he can see are green grass and beach sands.

He then heard something that made him turn over his right side... What he saw surprised him! A gull as big as an eagle and hopping unafraid towards him. The gull apparently saying 'mother dying, jake'... otherrrr, iiyyiiinnnggggg aaakkeeee....

He tried to scared off the gull but did to no avail. He then drank another gulp of that green goo, and then he was back. He was back half a mile from Speedy Parker who's calling his name....

Umney's Last Case

Chapter 1: The News from Peoria

Umney's got out of bed at 7:30am one L.A. spring morning. He can smell the exhaust of the vehicles from where he is and the smell is Oleander. He thinks of Peoria Smith, the blind paperboy, was standing in his accustomed place on the corner of Sunset and Laurel, and if that didn't mean God was in His heaven and all was jake with the world, Umney didn't know what did.

He go on to do the things he used to do that they. He prepared himself for work and expect to meet Peoria in his usual spot down the street. Peoria Smith was all right, just as always, and he'd recognized Umney by my walk even though it was at least an hour before his usual time.

After the greeting in the morning dew, and Umney's regular newspaper, Peoria gave the news that his Mom won the lottery in Tijuana and that they are rich!

Of course Umney didn't believe the boy. He said that Peoria may be old enough to know the difference between daydreams and what's real, but it's not old enough for that kind of talk. That sounded right. And that he is sure that the boy only pulling his sleeves. He must have made a mistake, because if it was true, then Peoria wouldn't be standing here anymore when Umney came by.

They've had an exchange of word. Peoria mentioned that he would not have come in that corner earlier that usual to tell his friend, Mr. Umney, that he is now rich (and insisting that he be called Francis, because that is his name) but in the end it finished with Peoria walking out (blindly)

Peoria--well, okay, Francis--made it as far as Derringer's Bar before turning to deliver one final salvo.

``Fuck you, Mr. Umney!'' he screamed, and ran on.

The Colorado Kid

Alright, here' s my best (not so much) attempt to summarize the story of 'The Colorado Kid'. Or at least give you a picture of the whole story. So, this is the first and last warning... Spoilers follows...

The story of The Colorado Kid is a confusing tale.

The story begins in a restaurant, The Grey Gull. A featured reporter for the Boston Globe is interviewing the whole staff of The Weekly Islander - Vince, Dave and Steff - the whole staff.

The reporter is trying to find the story behind the mysteries that happened in the area. But Vince, Dave and specially Steff (who's new in the job) supplied him nothing. He went in a hurry to catch the Ferry boat back to the city. The location of the story, by the way, is set in a community island.

The whole book happened in the house of Dave. (pronounced by Dave as horse). They we're chatting and talking about stories and the stories of the unknown. They talked about the Church Picnic Poisoner, The Coast Light mystery and all other mysteries that happened in that particular island in Maine.

One story that was told to Steffi was the story of the Colorado Kid.

John and Nancy, who usually come to the pier on their way to school early so they can run all the way to school.

One day, while walking in a beach they spied a man sitting in the sand, beside a litter bin, his head tip over the side of the trash can. The two approached the man and found out that he is dead.

This is where the whole investigation place. With no wallet and other identification, the man in the beach took a year to be identified. But knowing who The Colorado Kid was, is just the beginning of the mystery....

Overall, I don't feel that this is a Stephen King novel. I was expecting a little more than just a mystery novel. I'm used to more sci-fi, magical powers and monster style of Stephen King. But if you're a Stephen King fan, just like I am, you'll find The Colorado Kid a pleasure read.

Stephen King's Connection with LOST

Some of the connections between on of my favorite TV show LOST and Stephen King are the characters of the show versus the characters of the Dark Tower. Plus the style of the story of LOST is somehow Stephenkingish... The coincidental meetings of the characters for example has been one the idea of Mr. King.

Anyway, here are some of the character of The Dark Tower vs. the characters on LOST

Eddie Dean, a smart-alecky drug addict from which Roland the Last Gunslinger drew form our world to his word is being compared to Charlie of Lost... Both a slave of heroin.

While reading the Talisman one night (in the CR) I notice Jack Sawyer and I thought of the two most popular (in my opinion) male character of LOST - Jack (Shepard) and Sawyer

Jake, a young boy with special powers and a close father and son bond with Roland can be compared to Walt and his father.

“Ka”, which dictates that everything happens for a reason, similar to Locke’s belief in fate and the belief of the mysteries of the island.

Some of the more obvious of these similarities are found between Kings Dark Tower character Susannah. For example,

Susannah is bound to a wheel chair, having lost her legs after getting pushed in front of a subway train, but is able to walk in some parallel worlds. This is strikingly similar to Locke from Lost, as he was paralyzed from the waist down until waking up after Flight 815's crash having amazingly been cured.

Susannah can at times be compared to almost any of the Lost characters.

Again, Jake—a young boy with supernatural abilities know as “the touch”—and the character of Walt from Lost, who also seems to be gifted with his own set of supernatural abilities yet to be explained.

Jake adopts and develops a strong bond with a Mid-World animal called a Billy Bumbler, while Walt adopted his dog Vincent on the island.

It is indeed hard to ignore the parallels between Lost and many of King’s novels, most specifically the related works of The Stand, Insomnia and the Dark Tower. While there are many similarities between Lost and King's legendary book The Stand, the more striking similarities are shared with themes, concepts and characters from the Dark Tower books.

New Book: The Colorado Kid

Though I'm currently reading(?) The Talisman and Nightmares and Dreamscapes, I just recently bought my newest Stephen King book on an online bidding website (ebay.ph). The book is The Colorado Kid.

Don't know yet what the story is 'cause I haven't read it yet, but based on the leaf and summary, I think this is more of a crime, mystery type of novel with a Stephen King touch.

I'm sure this will be lovely.

Chapter by Chapter.. Starting with The Talisman

I'm currently reading two of Stephen King's books right now. One is Nightmare and Dreamscapes (if you notice my recent posts) and the other one is The Talisman - the one where he co-writes with Peter Straub.

I have a hardbound first edition copy of the Talisman so that means I will not be able to bring it wherever I go, so I really cannot finish it in a short period of time (short meaning couple of weeks.. :) ..

Anyway, here's what I'm going to do and I hope you guys agree. I will be posting every chapter summary, editing the post every time there is a new chapter to add. Alright! Great! Let's begin! :)

The Gunslinger - (e)Book Summary

The Gunslinger is the first book of Stephen King's magnum opus, The Dark Tower.

It is the story of a lone last Gunslinger to a world that has moved on.

This post is to summary Roland Deschain's first of many adventures towards the Dark Tower.

The story begins "The Man in Black fled into the dessert and the gunslinger follows"

He is described in great detail in this section. He wears two guns with sandalwood stocks across his hips.

From this dessert where the story begins, Roland - the last Gunslinger - crossed the hot, dry and dead dessert to catch the Man in Black, which he knows will bring him to his tower.

The gunslinger reaches what he believes to be the last hut in that dessert, he met a young man who is tending his crop of corn. His name is Brown.

The two men eat a dinner of beans and corn. The men talk about the town of Tull and the gunslinger asks Brown if he has ever been there. Brown has been there but avoids it if he can. He only goes there when he's selling corn and other stuff. The gunslinger tells Brown that he was almost killed in Tull by a man who people said was touched by God. In reality, the gunslinger says, the man was brought back to life by the Man in Black.

In this town he met Alice, the girl who bartend the bar where he hear's Hey Jude playing while entering the town. They had sex and then she began to talk. She explains that the man at the bar, Nort, was dead and then he was touched by God. She details Nort's fall into addiction and how the devil-grass started to take over his soul. Children would chase him in the street, tormenting him. He died. Alice continued that the man in black comes into Tull in the late afternoon in a worn cart led by a tired horse. He looks like a monk or a priest, since he is dressed in long black robes with a black hood that covers his face. The man in black sets a trap for Roland. When he's in it, he killed almost, if not all of the the resident of Tull.

After he finished telling the story to Brown, he left the next day. He continued crossing the desert. He saw what looks like a remain of a campfire but he can't see any clue that the man in black was close by. The remains looks cold and there are no other objects that may have explain that he's been there.

He then met Jake Chambers at the Way Station. According to Jake, he had died. A man dressed as a priest apparently pushed him in the road and he was ran over. That's why he was able to come to this world.

Jake joined Roland to his journey to the dark tower. The gunslinger felt that he must take this boy with him.

On one part of their adventure they ran into an oracle where jake almost died. After that, they came across the slow mutants in the mountains.. This is where jake fell and died. "Go then, there are other worlds that this" was jake's last words when he plundered down the abyss.

Roland, the last Gunlinger, finally reached the man in black and they had a very long palaver. He read him his fortunes using a set of tarot cards. He told Roland that soon he must draw. Man in the Black showed Roland the universe and it's infinity. "You did good" said the man in black, "better that your father".

The story ends when roland wakes up 10 years later and the man in black is just a pile of bones. He then continues his search to the dark tower.

Nighmares and Dreamscapes - The End of the Whole Mess

This short story is a good one. As much as possible I want to do the review myself (and I will)... This story from Nightmare and Dreamscapes apparently has an article in wikipedia, so I will take some of the stuff from there.

The End of the Whole Mess is a short science fiction story by Stephen King which was first published in Omni Magazine in 1986, and later published in the Nightmares and Dreamscapes collection.

The story, narrated by Howard Fornoy, recounts the life of his genius younger brother, Robert. Bobby, a child prodigy whose adult interests led him to study a variety of scientific disciplines, discovered a chemical that reduces the aggressive tendencies of humans and other organisms.

While doing sociological research in Texas, Bobby used crime statistics to create a sort of topographic map which displayed a geographical pattern of violent crime. Examining the map, Robert noted diminishing levels of crime centered around the town of La Plata. When he arrives to investigate, he finds that this town has never had any violent crime. Bobby is ultimately able to determine that the cause of the non-aggression is the presence of a chemical to the town's water supply, a phenomenon that is mentioned in King's earlier novel IT.

Even minimal exposure to the chemical will calm down an angry person or animal, and Bobby has been able to isolate the chemical and reduce it to concentrated form. At a time of international chaos suggestive of an approaching total nuclear war, Bobby and Howard, with the aid of a volcano, disperse a large quantity of this substance throughout the world, in the hope of preventing a catastrophe. Indeed, the effects are quick and expected: a massive decrease in hostilities around the globe.

To the Fornoys' horror, there was another constant about La Plata that was not studied until after the substance was released: a constant higher-than-normal tendency for residents to develop Alzheimer's disease, mental retardation, and premature senility.

Near the end of the story, the writer's words and writing styles become significantly hampered. It is then the reader understands hints given earlier: the brothers, remorseful of having doomed the world to a senile existence - and possible extinction - have decided to go through with a suicide pact by injecting themselves with a lethal dose of the miracle chemical.

Bobby died first, and Howard was charged with writing a note to explain what had happened. In the end, Howard does not even understand what he wrote, or even if he really did write it. His final lines tell us that he is going to put the pages into a "bocks full of quiyet air to last a milyun yrz", and also to tell his brother that "it wuz not yor falt i love you".

The eventual decline of Howard's narration, mirroring his eroding intelligence, is somewhat similar to the second half of Flowers for Algernon.

Nightmares and Dreamscapes - Dolans' Cadillac

The lastest book that I'm reading right now by the Master Story teller is Nightmares and Dreamscapes. A collection of short stories. Bought it in a second-hand bookstore in the MRT (train) Station in Ayala, Makati Philippines.

The great thing about the book is that, it has a TV special (well some of the stories in it, not all). When I bought the book, I didn't know that there was such. I'm glad there is. What I would do (or what im doing) is to read the story first then see if there is a movie equivalent.

The first story that I read was Dolan's Cadillac. (By this time, when I read this one, I still didn't know that there is a movie adaptation... even the second one, The End of the Whole Mess...)

Dolan's Cadillac is a long story (well it's a short story, but has the most page, so it's the longest one), but is slightly boring until it nearly ends.

It is a dark and riveting revenge tale about Las Vegas middle school science teacher Tom Robinson whose beloved wife Elizabeth witnesses an execution in the desert and is then targeted for death by the mobster who committed it, notorious Vegas crimelord Jimmy Dolan.

He waited and watched for seven years. He saw him come and go - Dolan. Watched him stroll into fancy restaurants dressed in a tuxedo, always with a different woman on his arm, always with his pair of bodyguards.

He always thinks of his wife Elizabeth during this time, every time actually. Dolan kille dhis wife or had her killed; it comes to the same, either way.

Elizabeth was on the wrong place in the wrong time when Dolan slipped. She testified in one of the crimes that Dolan committed. That's how she got killed.

It took him years and years to arrive at a perfect plan to get Dolan. He watched him day after day every time his schedule permits. He knows his regular trips. The date and time when Dolan goes to his regular visits in Las Vegas.

This is when he thought of the plan! He will bury Dolan and his caddy in the desert highway. This would not be easy, he knows that. THe men who travelled with Dolan were trained to kill. He was trained to teach third-graders.

To prepare for this plan he worked at the highway. And when the time has come (july 4th) he dug his grave for the man who killed his wife. And in the end, he got what he wanted.

Rate? Not that good. It bores me from the beginning up to the middle part. But it is worthwhile when you reach the end part.

Welcome To Mr. Stephen Kings's World

This is my first post.I would like to welcome anyone who would stumble upon this blog of mine - my, in a way, simple tribute to Stephen King.

I am a big fan for almost 10 years now. The first ever Stephen King book that I ever read was Firestarter.

Now, how did I known/discover Mr. King's works? Thanks to a local television station that aired the mini-series "The Stand", it all began right then. Went straight to the nearest bookstore and got myself a book!Thank you Mr. King for your stories! Hope you can drop by here in the Philippines.

The Journey to The Dark Tower Has Ended

Just finished reading book 7, the last book, of The Dark Tower series, March 29… All 1050 pages of it.

It took me several weeks, even months, but hey, just like Roland, the journey is long… Enjoyed every bit of it!

I could write a review on how great the story is as a whole but I don’t know where to start… Would I recommend reading all 7 Dark Tower books? Hell no!.. I wouldn’t.. I would recommend first reading the books related to the Dark tower story… For example, the main antagonist of the story is the Crimson King, I say, read first Stephen King’s Insomia, wherein King describes the Crimson King in detail.

In The DarkTower.net, there is a complete (to date) connections of all Stephen King’s novel.. The pictures below shows all (as of now) the connection between all other Stephen King novel and the Dark Tower Series. It is advisable to read the pre-requisite first to further enjoy the journey to the Tower.

Interested? Why not buy one? (and I’m not recommending? :)…
